What does Lead-Safe Certified mean?

Lead-Safe Certified means that a company, organization or firm is legally allowed to work in or bid on work in buildings built before 1978. They have completed two steps:

  1. The organization must have at least one person, either an owner or employee, that has attended the one-day EPA RRP Certified Renovator, Lead-Based Paint Certification Class. This individual is required to oversee any work and make sure that Lead-Safe Work Practices are followed, workers are trained and the procedures are documented.
  2. After the class is completed the Certified Renovator is responsible for registering the firm as a Lead-Safe Certified Firm. You will receive the application during the class or click on the following link to find the Certified Firm Applications.
